Monthly Meeting
Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by club President John Paul Howell.

2. MINUTES
The minutes from the November 2009 meeting were approved with correction to Ted Bauer’s call, WA3AER.
3. REPORTS
(a) Treasurer's Report -- Fred Heath, AI3Z
Started November with $1328.50 and ended with $1317.
(b) Station Equipment and Operation Reports
i. W2W Special Event Report – QSO totals 5-6th Dec from Nick K3NY
40m CW - 94 Qs
40m SSB - 113 Qs
20m CW - 238 Qs
20m SSB - 731 Qs
total - 1176 Qs We may have worked all states.
ii. Northrop Grumman Family Net, Weds 3pm ET – Chip W4PBG / Bob K3FQP
Bob reports that noise has been less. Had a club member, Vaughn Quidorf, check in recently while mobile. Overall attendance has been low.
iii. TV net, Tues lunch (11:45am-12:15pm ET) – Heru W3WVV
People have been checking in; net is going ok. There is still an issue with preamp – transistor needed.
iv. Monthly Power Line Noise Report – Rol K3RA
Rol has been in touch with the Public Service Commission again; BGE has continued to do work since that, including replacing many lightning arrestors. Nevertheless, noise continues.
v. Equipment Issues
Icom: Persistent hum was reported when used with headset on 40m operating at W2W. Icom is not meant to be used with headset so that might be causing problems - Fred plans to order adaptor that will allow headset to be used.
(c) QSL Report – Nick K3NY
Tim Titus reports helping Nick to check over the DXCC cards and data so that we can submit for 300 countries worked.
(d) FISTS Report - Nick K3NY
No news (Nick not present).
(e) Training Report -- Rol Anders, K3RA
Testing: 10 people took exams. 2 students took 2 exam elements for a total of 12 exam elements passed!
Extra Class starts Jan 12. Runs about 12 weeks: Exam tentatively in April.
Contact Jim N3GOO if you want to be a Volunteer Examiner and you have a general, advanced or extra license.
(f) FAR Report
We still need a FAR Representative.
4. OLD BUSINESS
(a) Exhibit space for new rotating exhibit of our equipment
Rol and Jim to talk to Mike. Thinking of space near spark gap station; maybe move spark gap station slightly.
5. ELECTIONS
Nominations were closed and officers for 2010 were elected with no opposition.

6. NEW BUSINESS
(a) Station appearance cleanup
Tom Christovich volunteered to lead a group to improve layout/appearance of station. Tom, Jim Nowotarski, and Ted Bauer will develop ideas and price them, and present back to club.
(b) Gary Mauler's trailer
The club discussed ideas for converting an old, approximately 20ft trailer owned by Gary Mauler into a mobile communications vehicle.
6. NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

January 27: BARC Mini-fest 3-9 pm
January 31: Mobileers at Odenton firehouse from 8-12 noon
February 13: Indoor technoswap at National Electronics Museum
